    • Mowing - Several types of grass thrive in Maryland. We optimize our cutting height and care to match the needs of your specific lawn. We finely mulch grass clippings to provide natural fertilization

    • We carefully trim edges and blow off hardscapes during each visit

    • Weeding - We don’t use any chemical pesticides. Instead we carefully hand-weed all garden beds

    • Pruning - We offer hand-pruning and trimming to optimize plant health and appearance

    • We monitor plant health and provide guidance and suggestions when needed

    • Leaf Cleanups - We coordinate with the county curbside pickup dates for your neighborhood. We leave a light layer of leaves in your beds to provide habitat for overwintering insects, plant insulation, and nutrition for the soil

    • Aeration & Seeding - For cool-season grasses, we recommend aeration & seeding to bolster your lawn and improve soil health

    • Fall Cleanups - We'll remove excess leaves from garden beds, remove fallen sticks and branches from the lawn, clear out dead plant growth, clean out window wells and stairwells, and keep vines away from the foundation of your house. This is an essential part of winterizing not only your garden, but also your property as a whole

    • Spring Cleanups - We remove excess sticks, leaves, and dead plant materials that have accumulated over the winter months

    • Mulching - An optional add-on that helps suppress weeds and limit erosion, while enhancing moisture retention and curb-appeal

    • Shrub Trimming - Late winter/early spring is a good time to prune and trim many varieties of shrubs

    • We provide consultations, designs, and installations of ecologically beneficial landscapes

    • We specialize in native plants and pollinator gardens

Founded in 2009, Solar Mowing is a family owned and operated landscaping company serving southern Montgomery County, MD, and NW Washington, DC. Since the beginning, we have sought to provide high-quality lawn care & landscaping while prioritizing sustainability. 

Solar Mowing operates with exclusively battery-powered equipment. We take pride in not just plugging those batteries into the grid, but in charging with renewable energy as much as possible. Our goal is to use 100% renewable energy to power our equipment by 2027.
